Gupta brothers linked to Zuma leave South Africa

The Gupta brothers who have hit the headlines in recent weeks have left South Africa.

The brothers who are said to have exerted undue influence over South Africa’s president, Jacob Zuma, left the country for Dubai.

“The whole family is in the process of leaving,” Nazeem Howa, the family spokesperson told local press.

The family, who moved to South Africa in 1993, have several business interests in Africa’s most advanced economy.

Ajay and Atul were the co-chairs of Oakbay Investments, while Atul was the chair of Oakbay Resources and Energy.

Persistent rumours of the family’s excessive influence over the president took center stage in March when evidence emerged that they allegedly offered key government jobs to those who might help their business interests.
